Clive Mason

Clive Mason joined ARCH as an ESG advisor in 2018. Clive has over 30 years working experience as an Environmental and Social Risk Management Adviser with roles at International Finance Corporation as well as running a number of organisations in the environmental industry, which involved cleaner production and environmental technology transfer. Clive is familiar with the various E&S standards of the IFIs and has developed and delivered numerous workshops on E&S management to banks and private equity funds.

Cynthia Carroll

Cynthia Carroll joined ARCH as a Senior Advisor in 2021. Cynthia is the only woman (at writing) to have held a CEO position of a major mining company, having held the position at Anglo American plc. Cynthia has also held various executive roles at the company including President of Bauxite, Alumina and Specialty Chemicals and Chief Executive Officer of the Primary Metal Group, Alcan’s core business. Cynthia sits on a number of boards and is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineers and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Cynthia is an advisor and Investment Advisory Committee Member for the Resources strategy.

Paul Atherley

Paul Atherley joined ARCH as a Senior Advisor in 2020. Paul has 30 years’ worth of experience in financing, developing and operating a range of mineral assets internationally. Previously, he was Executive Director of HSBC’s investment banking arm in Australia and was based in Beijing, China for 10 years covering various roles including Chairman of British Chamber of Commerce. Paul has extensive experience in fundraising for mining projects, raising over US$ 300 million from various stakeholders.

Martin Botha

Martin Botha joined ARCH as a Senior Advisor in 2020. Martin has a background of 30+ years experience as an engineer in international investment banking. He was a founding Director in Standard Bank London's international operations. Martin has experience in establishing and leading global natural resources trading and financing franchises across Commonwealth of Independent States, Turkey and the Middle East. Currently Non-Executive Chairman of Sberbank CIB and Non-Executive Director of Zeta Resources.

Obinna Onyeagoro

Obinna Onyeagoro joined ARCH as an Investment Advisory Committee Member in 2018. Obi was most recently Head of Standard Chartered’s EMEA Financial Sponsors Group. He has worked on energy projects across Europe, which included both thermal/gas-fired, solar and hydro. Obi previously worked with Deutsche Bank’s RREEF Infrastructure Investment team, and in the Deutsche Bank Energy Advisory Group. Obi has an MBA and a Masters in Policy from Harvard University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering.

Obinna is an advisor and Investment Advisory Committee Member for the Cold Chain Solutions East Africa and African Renewable Power strategies.

Andy Cox

Andy joined ARCH in 2023 as an Investment Advisory Committee Member. Prior to joining ARCH, he was a Partner at KPMG for 17 years. Andy is an experienced energy sector leader and was responsible for KPMG’s advisory and consulting services across a range of power clients including renewable energy. Andy’s last role at KPMG was Global Lead Partner for BP p.l.c. Since retiring from KPMG, Andy has various advisory roles across the energy sector.

Andy is an advisor and Investment Advisory Committee Member for Africa Renewable Power strategies.

Ngalaah Chuphi

Ngalaah joined ARCH as a Senior Advisor in 2024. Ngalaah has over 30 years of experience in private equity, infrastructure investing, management consulting, and engineering. His expertise includes deal sourcing, execution, and value creation across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, along with significant experience in fundraising from institutional investors. Ngalaah has also worked in project finance at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he funded infrastructure projects in Latin America. He currently holds several advisory and Investment Committee positions with Africa-focused funds and serves on the boards of multiple portfolio companies based in Africa. Earlier in his career, he served as a management consultant in strategy development across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe and held engineering roles in large global technology firms.
